Malaria is an infectious disease transmitted by the bite of Anopheles mosquitoes. It is characterized by periodic episodes of chills, chills, sweating and fever, as well as anemia and splenomegaly. There are four types of Plasmodium parasites in the human body: Plasmodium vivax, Plasmodium falciparum, Plasmodium triton and Plasmodium ovale. The causative agent of falciparum malaria is Plasmodium falciparum.
The gold standard immunochromatographic technique was utilized to detect HRP-II (histidine-rich amino acid protein II)-Plasmodium falciparum-specific antigen (RII) by using a mouse anti-P.F. antibody coated with a reactive membrane as the detection line; an anti-mouse IgG was also coated as the control line. When whole blood is added into the test paper spiking hole, the serum moves along the test paper by the separation of the sampling pad, dissolving the gold-labeled antibody. If the sample contains P. falciparum specific antigen, two purple-red lines will appear in the reaction area respectively; if there is no specific antigen in the sample, only one purple-red line will appear. This product has the advantages of high sensitivity, high specificity, rapidity and simplicity, and good reproducibility. It is important for the diagnosis of Plasmodium falciparum.
