It can clear away heat and detoxify, reduce swelling and relieve pain, and is used for symptoms of swelling and pain in the throat caused by wind-heat attack, lung and stomach heat, laryngeal paralysis, and oral chemisia. Swelling of the larynx, sores on the mouth and tongue, swollen and painful gums or bleeding, acute and chronic pharyngitis, gingivitis, the latter of the above symptoms and mild burns.
