Platinum II Taq Hot-Start DNA Polymerase is an engineered Taq DNA polymerase that is more resistant to reaction inhibitors generated by sample materials or DNA purification steps. Strong tolerance. The enzyme has a faster DNA synthesis rate and PCR results are typically obtained more than twice as fast as with other Taq DNA polymerases. Proprietary Platinum Taq antibodies block polymerase activity at ambient temperature and dissociate after an initial denaturation step at 94°C. This automated “hot start” provides increased sensitivity, specificity, and yield while also enabling reaction assembly at room temperature.

Due to the unique composition of Platinum II PCR buffer, the annealing temperature is 60°C for most primer pairs designed according to general design rules. Co-stabilizing components in the buffer can enhance the stability of the primer-template complex during the annealing process and achieve higher specificity without the need to optimize the annealing temperature for each primer pair. Using Platinum II Hot Start PCR Master Mix (2X), different PCR assays can be cycled simultaneously using the same protocol using universal primer annealing temperatures and extension steps selected for the longest fragments to be amplified.

Platinum II Hot Start PCR Master Mix (2X) features optional Platinum GC Enhancer for specific amplification and increased yield of high GC content targets.

Use Platinum II Hot Start PCR Master Mix (2X) for amplification of DNA from complex genomic, viral, and plasmid templates and for RT-PCR, genotyping, high-throughput PCR, or samples with suboptimal purity Applications.

To further simplify the PCR workflow, we launched Platinum II Hot Start Green PCR Master Mix (2X ), which additionally contains density reagents and two tracking dyes for direct loading onto the gel, even reducing pipetting steps during PCR product analysis.
