Thermo Scientific™ Pierce™ Streptavidin, Horseradish Peroxidase Conjugates Included with Peroxide Enzyme-conjugated purified form of streptavidin for substrate-based detection.
Streptavidin, horseradish peroxidase conjugate detects biotinylation in a variety of standard detection methods, including Western blotting, ELISA, immunohistochemistry techniques and fluorescence imaging Antibodies and other probes. Streptavidin-horseradish peroxidase conjugate is supplied as a lyophilized powder in phosphate buffer for immediate reconstitution with water.
Strepavidin is a biotin-binding protein originally isolated from Streptomyces avidinus. Compared to avidin, strepavidin has no carbohydrates and has a slightly acidic pI of 5. Pierce Strepavidin products use a recombinant form of strepavidin with a mass of 53,000 daltons and a pI close to neutral. Streptoavidin is a tetrameric protein, each subunit binds a molecule of biotin, and its affinity is similar to that of avidin. Guanidine hydrochloride can dissociate avidin and strepavidin into subunits, but streptoavidin is more resistant to dissociation.
Recommended for ELISA (0.1 µg/mL), immunohistochemistry (1-10 µg/mL) and Western blot (2 µg/mL) applications.
