Features
  • Greater chemical resistance than polycarbonate
  • Re-autoclavable—more resistant to repeated autoclaving than polycarbonate Longer tube life
  • Maximum speeds up to 50,000 x g in refrigerated or uncooled centrifuges; 3139-0050 up to 100,605 x g in T29-8x50 rotor
  • < li>Equipped with a polypropylene sealing lid with silicone gasket for enhanced leak protection when centrifuging at >10,000 xg or centrifuging hazardous materials
  • When centrifuging, the total fill volume must 80% of capacity
  • Autoclavable/leak-proof when used with included Nalgene lids†; repeated autoclaving will shorten the life of PC tubes.

Ordering Information:

Selected sizes are available with replacement sealing cap assemblies. Use DS3131-0020 for 30 mL tubes and DS3131-0024 for 50 mL tubes. Tube product number 3139-0050 has an actual full capacity of 42mL and is designed to fit standard rotors.

Recycling Information:
Reusable Nalgene polypropylene (PP) and polypropylene copolymer (PPCO) centrifuge tubes are available in typical laboratories Centrifuge multiple times under conditions. However, like all durable products, they are eventually discontinued and replaced. In many communities, these centrifuge tubes can be recycled. After product end-of-life, clean and recycle your Nalgene PP and PPCO centrifuge tubes if recycling services are available in your community.

† The term "leak-proof" applies to Thermo Scientific Nalgene products that meet the following criteria: a) For bottles/flasks/ with cap dimensions less than 100 mm For funnel sealing systems, when filled with water, the water inside will not escape when inverted for 2 minutes under a gas pressure of 2 psig; b) For bottle/funnel/flask sealing systems with cap sizes greater than 100 mm, when filled with water Afterwards, turn it upside down for 15 minutes so that the water inside will not overflow. Note: If other liquids are used for the above test, different results may be obtained. To ensure safe use, customers are advised to test Thermo Scientific Nalgene bottles and closures under planned application conditions. Thermo Scientific Nalgene products are leak-proof when used with Nalgene sealing caps at room temperature and pressure.
