Thermo Scientific Pierce NBT and BCIP Substrates are for chromogenic blotting and IHC staining (using alkaline phosphatase probes) of nitroblue tetrazolium and 5-bromo-4-chloro-3'-indolylphosphate powder and ready-to-use solutions.
NBT (nitroblue tetrazolium chloride) and BCIP (5-bromo-4-chloro-3'-indolylphosphate toluidine salt) are used in combination with alkaline phosphatase, a commonly used Antibody probe enzyme conjugate) produces an insoluble deep black purple precipitate when reacting. Pierce NBT and BCIP powders are available individually in two convenient, ready-to-use solutions (with and without levamisole inhibitors of endogenous phosphatase activity).
