Dionex IonPac CS11 columns can be used to determine common inorganic cations and aliphatic and aromatic amines in a variety of sample matrices, but advances in cation exchange column technology have resulted in better column options for these separations.
Recommended Cation Exchange Columns
Since the initial introduction of the Dionex IonPac CS11 column, Dionex has introduced several new cation exchange columns that include advanced features. For example, most modern Dionex IonPac cation exchange columns use a simple methanesulfonic acid eluent instead of a DAP-HCl eluent. These columns and their recommended uses are listed below.
- Dionex IonPac CS12A columns improve performance for rapid analysis of inorganic cations and ammonium in a variety of matrices.
- Dionex IonPac CS17 columns are recommended for hydrophobic and polyvalent amines.
- Dionex IonPac CS19 and CS19-4µm columns are recommended for polar amines, including alkanolamines and methylamines, as well as moderately hydrophobic and polyvalent amines.
- Compatible with organic solvents to enhance analyte solubility, change column selectivity, or facilitate efficient column cleaning
Available in multiple sizes for application flexibility< /strong> - 2x250mm analytical column
- 2x50mm guard column
- Longer 250mm column to achieve higher resolution separation of more complex sample matrices
- Smaller column diameter improves sensitivity, saves eluents and reagents, and reduces operating costs
