The Dionex AAA-Direct System does not require any form of derivatization and is therefore compatible with online monitoring of cell cultures and fermentation broths. Vitamins, amino sugars and sugars can be measured simultaneously with amino acids. Other capabilities include the separation of various sugars, phosphorylated amino acids, and common oxidation products of sulfur-containing amino acids, such as sulfoalanine, methionine sulfone, and methionine sulfoxide.
Thermo Scientific offers two methods for amino acid analysis: anion exchange separation via the Dionex AAA-Direct system, where amino acids are directly detected without derivatization; and anion exchange separation via post-column derivatization.
Dionex AminoPac columns are used for the high-resolution separation of free amino acids, as well as the separation and detection of various sugars, phosphorylated amino acids, and common oxidation products of sugar-containing amino acids.
