Anion trap columns remove trace anionic contaminants from the eluent and/or deionized water before they enter the guard or analytical column. Anionic contaminants in the eluent and/or deionized water tend to interfere with the accuracy of trace anion determinations, especially when performing anion exchange applications involving gradient eluents.
