MagMAX™ Plant DNA Isolation Kits are designed for automated, high-throughput or manual isolation from a variety of plant species Purified DNA. This kit uses MagMAX magnetic bead technology and eliminates the need for phenol/chloroform extraction or alcohol precipitation. This procedure is optimized for the isolation of DNA from 10–100 mg plant samples. DNA yield varies between species and tissues depending on genome size, ploidy, cell number, age of the tissue sample, and storage conditions.

MagMAX Plant DNA Isolation Kit relies on magnetic bead technology for reproducible yields and robust performance. The high binding capacity, uniform particle size, and fast magnetic response of magnetic beads make this technology ideal for automated high-throughput nucleic acid purification and can be used for manual purification with low sample throughput. The high-quality DNA obtained is free of proteins, nucleases, and other contaminants or inhibitors and can be used in a variety of downstream applications such as PCR, qPCR, or next-generation sequencing. MagMAX Magnetic Bead Method – Advantages of Purification
The kit’s Magnetic Bead Method – Purification formats can be easily increased or decreased using a magnetic stand for manual processing or using a magnetic particle processor such as KingFisher™ Duo Prime or KingFisher™ Flex number of samples processed by the processor).

Magnetic beads offer many advantages over other technologies for isolating nucleic acids. Magnetic beads bind RNA and DNA more efficiently than glass fiber filters, resulting in higher, more consistent yields. Furthermore, since filter columns and vacuum manifolds are not used, there is no risk of undigested tissue particles clogging these components during the extraction process. This clogging problem is particularly important for fibrous plant tissue samples that are not completely dissolved during the disruption and homogenization steps.

Optimized Magnetic Bead Surface Chemistry
The Dynabeads™ MyOne™ carboxylic acids used in the MagMAX Plant DNA Kit have an optimized surface chemistry with a high specific surface area to achieve Efficient kinetics and high-sensitivity nucleic acid capture. These aspects make Dynabeads magnetic technology ideal for the recovery of DNA targets from a variety of plant samples. After capture, DNA is eluted in 150 µL and ready for downstream applications.
