MagMAX Saliva gDNA Isolation Kit is a scalable, automated magnetic bead sample preparation technology for extracting samples from fresh and stable Genomic DNA (gDNA) was isolated from saliva. The resulting purified gDNA is ideally suited for a variety of downstream molecular biology applications, such as qPCR, next-generation sequencing, and microarray analysis. Isolate DNA from Stable Freshly Collected Saliva
The MagMAX Saliva gDNA Isolation Kit uses a commercially available saliva collection device to isolate DNA from 200 µL–2 mL of freshly collected saliva or stabilized saliva. Isolation of gDNA from saliva (see image below). MagMAX saliva gDNA isolation chemistry is compatible with Oragene™ saliva collection devices from DNA Genotek and SalivaGard™ saliva collection devices from Biomatrica and GeneFiX™ saliva DNA collection devices from IsoHelix.

The MagMAX Saliva gDNA Isolation Kit utilizes an innovative lysis/binding solution to treat samples to simultaneously lyse cells, denature proteins, and capture gDNA on high-capacity magnetic binding beads. Saliva gDNA Wash I Solution removes proteins, detergents, and other impurities from bound nucleic acids. Then, a low TE elution solution is used to release gDNA from the beads.

The MagMAX Saliva gDNA Isolation Kit combines multiple laborious sample processing steps into one step, eliminating the hassles often required by other methods. Time and effort are reduced to a minimum without affecting yield and purity. Multiple sample volume inputs can be processed simultaneously without the need for sample standardization or reagent volume adjustment. Simply match your saliva loading volume to one of three standard loading workflows (50 µL to 500 µL, ≤ 1 mL, ≤ 2 mL) and follow the half-step process using the KingFisher Duo Prime or KingFisher Flex Purification System. Optimized for the KingFisher Purification System
The MagMAX Saliva gDNA Isolation Kit is suitable for use with the mid-throughput KingFisher Duo Prime (Cat. No. 5400110) and the higher-throughput KingFisher Flex (Cat. No. 5400630) purification system. Using the KingFisher Flex System, users can process up to 500 µL of saliva in high-throughput SBS 96-well deep-well microtiter plates. For smaller sample batches, users can use the Duo Prime system to process 12 samples. Difficult to handle larger sample loads (>500 µ and 1–2 mL) are purified in 24-well deep well SBS plates with larger sample capacity to process 24 samples on the Flex or on the Duo Prime system 6 samples.
