This cloned, high-purity Ambion T7 RNA polymerase is highly specific for its promoter. This enzyme can transcribe the DNA sequence downstream of the promoter into RNA without cross-interference between promoters. Each tube contains 30,000 U at a concentration of 200 U/µL. The enzyme's high purity makes it an ideal choice for the synthesis of high specific activity RNA hybridization probes, biologically active mRNA and antisense RNA. RNA polymerase has been rigorously tested for contamination by non-specific endonuclease, exonuclease, protease and RNase activities. Enzyme function was tested in in vitro transcription reactions at ideal and limiting UTP concentrations.
