Simple DNA from plant samples Purification
PureLink™ Genomic Plant DNA Purification Kit is suitable for isolating DNA from chloroplasts and a variety of plant tissues (Figure 1), such as alfalfa sprouts, sunflower sprouts, corn hulls, soybeans, Mushrooms, tomato leaves, wheatgrass and Arabidopsis leaves. The entire protocol relies on centrifugation on a spin column and does not require organic solvents. PureLink™ Genomic Plant DNA Purification Kit is designed to purify DNA from up to 100 mg of plant tissue.
Greatly improve the total DNA yield
High DNA yield can be achieved by using young plant samples such as leaves and freezing the samples in liquid nitrogen immediately after collection and very low levels of DNA degradation. Higher DNA yields can be obtained by eluting the total DNA in 2 aliquots (100 µL each), with the first elution yielding 65-80% DNA recovery and the second elution > 90%. Typically, A260/A280> of DNA isolated using the PureLink™ Genomic Plant DNA Purification Kit when diluting the sample with Tris-HCl (pH 7.5) 1.80, indicating that the DNA does not contain proteins that may interfere with downstream applications.
