Thermo Scientific 6X DNA Loading Dye is used to prepare DNA molecular weight standards and load onto agarose or polyacrylamide gels sample. Two different dyes (bromophenol blue and xylene cyanine FF) are included to facilitate visual tracking of DNA during electrophoresis. Glycerol ensures that the DNA is in the ladder and the sample settles at the bottom of the well. EDTA contained in the solution binds divalent metal ions, thereby inhibiting metal-dependent nucleases
