Gibco™ Richter's MEM is an improved formula of Eagle MEM, which contains iron, zinc, putrescine, fatty acids and gentamicin. Richter's is modified to also contain very high concentrations of choline chloride and myo-inositol. This product is made from Earle's Balanced Salt.

Gibco™ MEM is manufactured in a cGMP compliant facility in Grand Island, New York. The facility is an FDA-registered medical device manufacturer and is certified to the ISO 13485 standard.
Gibco™ MEM Medium does not contain proteins, lipids or growth factors. Therefore, MEM needs to be supplemented with nutrients, usually 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). MEM uses a sodium bicarbonate buffer system (2.2 g/L) and therefore requires a 5-10% CO2 environment to maintain physiological pH.
