Uses of IMDM
IMDM is a modified version of Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium, containing selenium and other amino acids and vitamins. Additionally, this unique medium is iron-free, using potassium nitrate instead of ferric nitrate. IMDM contains no proteins, lipids or growth factors. Therefore, IMDM needs to be supplemented with nutrients, usually 10% Fetal bovine serum (FBS). IMDM uses a sodium bicarbonate buffer system (3.024 g/L) and therefore requires an environment of 5–10% CO₂ to maintain physiological pH.

cGMP Manufacturing and Quality Systems
IMDM is manufactured in a cGMP compliant facility in Grand Island, New York. The factory is an FDA-registered medical device manufacturer and is certified to the ISO 13485 standard. To ensure supply chain continuity we also offer an equivalent IMDM product (21980-032) manufactured in our Scottish factory. The latter is also a medical device manufacturer registered with the FDA and complies with the ISO 13485 standard.
