Dulbecco's Phosphate Buffered Saline (DPBS) is a balanced salt solution suitable for a variety of cell culture applications such as dissociation Wash cells, transport cells or tissues, dilute cells for counting, and prepare reagents before use. Before cell dissociation, the chelating agent needs to be rinsed from the culture using a calcium- and magnesium-free preparation. Gibco™ cell culture medium in powder form needs to be supplemented with sodium bicarbonate, pH adjusted and filtered (see Experimental protocol).
