Ambion™ IPTG (isopropyl-beta-D-thiogalactopyranoside) is lac Inducer of operons, often used together with X-GAL to determine the lac phenotype of recombinant plasmids or phages. IPTG has also been used to induce expression of cloned genes regulated by thelac operon. Available in bottles, 5 g each.
