Widely cited fluorescent phalloidin conjugatesAchieve excellent actin staining research resultsPhalloidin is a di- Cyclic peptides, a class of toxins isolated from the lethal
Amanita "death cap" mushroom, are often used to selectively label F-actin in imaging applications. The binding properties of fluorescently labeled phalloidin to actin from different species, including plants and animals, are almost identical. Phalloidin binds F-actin with high selectivity, while TRITC provides a red-orange fluorescence with excellent brightness and photostability. Rhodamine phalloidin rarely exhibits nonspecific staining and allows high contrast differentiation of actin staining. Rhodamine phalloidin is one of the most commonly used fluorescent phalloidin conjugates in the literature, as evidenced by more than 1,500 related citations (stored in an internal database).
Can be used in a variety of applicationsRhodamine phalloidin can be used to visualize and quantify F-actin in tissue sections, cell cultures, or cell-free preparations . Rhodamine phalloidin staining is fully compatible with other fluorescent stains used in cell analysis procedures, including fluorescent proteins, Qdot™ nanocrystals, and Alexa Fluor™ conjugates (including secondary antibodies).
