For high-resolution separations of free amino acids, choose Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ AminoPac™ PA10 amino acid columns. Dionex AminoPac PA10 columns are packed with hydrophobic, polymeric, thin film anion exchange resin that is stable over the pH range 0–14. The unique pH stability allows the use of highly conductive eluents, which aids in the oxidation of amino acids at the gold electrode. This column is recommended for use with the Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ AAA-Direct™ Amino Acid Analyzer system, which can directly detect primary and secondary amino acids through integrated pulsed amperometric detection (IPAD) without the need for pre- or post-column derivatization.

Optimized for use with the Dionex AAA-Direct System for the separation of free amino acids

The Dionex AAA-Direct System does not require any form of derivatization and is therefore compatible with online monitoring of cell cultures and fermentation broths. Vitamins, amino sugars and sugars can be measured simultaneously with amino acids. Other capabilities include the separation of various sugars, phosphorylated amino acids, and common oxidation products of sulfur-containing amino acids, such as sulfoalanine, methionine sulfone, and methionine sulfoxide.

Designed for superior chromatographic performance
  • Simultaneous detection and separation of sugars and amino acids
  • Detection limits covering mid-femtemoles to low picomolar levels
  • Compatible with all commonly used hydrolysis procedures
  • Can be configured for online analysis

About Dionex AminoPac Amino Acids Columns

Thermo Scientific offers two methods for amino acid analysis: anion exchange separation via the Dionex AAA-Direct system, where amino acids are directly detected without derivatization; and anion exchange separation via post-column derivatization.

  • Dionex AminoPac PA10 columns separate free amino acids without derivatization.
  • Dionex AminoPac PA10 columns can separate free amino acids after derivatization.
  • Both columns are compatible with solvents, high pH, and high temperatures.
  • Both columns are easily expandable.

Dionex AminoPac columns are used for the high-resolution separation of free amino acids, as well as the separation and detection of various sugars, phosphorylated amino acids, and common oxidation products of sugar-containing amino acids.
