UltraPure™ ethidium bromide is a sensitive fluorescent dye for the detection of agarose gels and cesium chloride ( CsCl) nucleic acids in gradient solutions. This product is provided as an aqueous solution consisting of 10 mg/ml UltraPure™ ethidium bromide and high-purity water.

UltraPure™ Ethidium Bromide is an aromatic compound with phenanthridine as its core (see structure below). The maximum fluorescence excitation wavelength of ethidium bromide is 300 nm and 520 nm, and the maximum emission wavelength is 600 nm (see fluorescence spectrum).
