Thermo Scientific Pierce ethylene glycol solution has been purified to remove common impurities in traditional glycerol stock solutions and is an antibody-enzyme conjugate. The combination provides excellent anti-freeze protection and storage stability.

Characteristics of ethylene glycol:

This product is a 50% (w/v) high-purity ethylene glycol aqueous solution. When mixed with equal volumes of purified protein samples (such as primary antibodies), the solution remains liquid during frozen storage (-20°) and preserves the protein stably. For most protein storage, ethylene glycol is a suitable substitute for glycerol. In fact, this glycol solution is free of common glycerol impurities and potential degradation products that can damage certain enzymes.
