In reducing formulation, Thermo Scientific Pierce Non-Reducing Lane Marker Loading Buffer is a ready-to-use 5X SDS-PAGE sample loading buffer with pink dye buffer front label. This loading buffer contains the reducing agent DTT, which eliminates the unpleasant odor caused by buffers containing mercaptoethanol.

Features of the lane marker loading buffer:

The lane marker loading buffer is a convenient, ready-to-use product that can be directly used for SDS-PAGE gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and protein Western blotting. The 5X stock solution differs from the traditional 2X stock solution by allowing the sample in each well to contain more protein solution. Very uniquely, in these buffers a bright pink tracking dye is used instead of the traditional bromophenol blue dye. This pink dye not only marks the dye front in the gel but also transfers and binds to nitrocellulose membranes long-term. Therefore, this dye can be used to evaluate transfer efficiency and align sheared membranes.

Lane marker loading buffer is easy to use. Simply mix one part loading buffer with four parts protein sample, denature with heat, and load the gel sample wells. The progress of the electrophoresis is visualized by monitoring the position of the pink dye front. Lane marker loading buffers are available for use on various types of denaturing gels and are compatible with Coomassie dye and silver staining techniques and Western blotting procedures.

Note: This product is not compatible with fluorescence detection systems. (Pink tracking dye with strong fluorescent signal.)
