Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) is a balanced salt solution suitable for a variety of cell culture applications, such as prior to dissociation Wash cells, transport cell or tissue samples, dilute cells for counting, and prepare reagents. Before cell dissociation, the chelating agent needs to be rinsed from the culture using a formulation that does not contain calcium and magnesium.
