Molecular Probes™ Neurite Growth Staining Kit provides a quick and easy way to measure neurite growth and cell viability in the same sample. It contains three fluorescent dyes: a cell viability indicator, cell membrane stain, and background suppression reagent. Please note that the dyes included in the kit are not specific for neurons and will stain any animal cell. This kit is not suitable for distinguishing neurons from other cell types in mixed populations.

Staining results can be obtained quickly
Relative to immunostaining, Neurite outgrowth staining kit saves time and reduces steps. A typical workflow using this kit takes 15–30 minutes and requires only two media change steps to perform measurements. In contrast, immunostaining involves multiple tissue block, wash, and antibody incubation steps and takes several hours to complete.

Flexible Protocols
Depending on the cell type of interest, fixed cell staining may be better than live cell staining. Both options are provided in the product manual to maximize flexibility.

Instrument Compatibility
Use a fluorescence microplate reader, microscope, or HCS instrument to measure the fluorescent signal generated by the Synapse Growth Staining Kit to match your current needs. Some workflows are compatible. Likewise, the probes used in this kit are compatible with standard FITC (green) and TRITC (orange-red) emission filter sets.
