Pierce high-capacity EDTA-compatible Ni-IMAC magnetic beads are designed for the purification of overexpressed His-tagged proteins from cell culture media. The magnetic beads have high binding capacity (up to 80 mg protein per mL of precipitated beads) and can tolerate the high EDTA and reducing agent concentrations used to inhibit metalloproteases and stabilize sensitive intracellular proteins.

Pierce High Capacity EDTA Compatible Ni-IMAC consists of cross-linked agarose beads embedded with magnets. The density of ligands on agarose beads results in binding capabilities similar to or better than traditional agarose resins, with the added advantage of being magnetic and EDTA compatible. Magnetic beads are a valuable tool for small-scale purification of a variety of His-tagged proteins, as well as for searching purification conditions for expression and larger-scale purifications.

Pierce High Capacity EDTA Compatible Ni-IMAC Magnetic Beads are optimized for use with high-throughput magnetic beads such as the KingFisher 96 and KingFisher Flex Magnetic Bead Purifiers, but these beads are also compatible with the use of appropriate magnetic stands for simple benchtop purification applications. However, automated instruments are particularly useful for higher throughput purification and screening of purification conditions.
