Halt Phosphatase Inhibitor Single Use Cocktail Features:

Lack of Protease Inhibitors—To protect proteins from proteases and phosphatases, Use Halt Protease and Phosphatase Inhibitor Cocktail.

Halt Phosphatase Inhibitor Cocktail protects phosphoproteins from serine/threonine phosphatases and protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) during cell lysis. The cocktail contains a mixture of four broadly specific inhibitors, including sodium fluoride, sodium orthovanadate, sodium pyrophosphate, and beta-glycerol phosphate. Covalently packaged in a 100x form, the mixture is stable at 4°C and suitable for use with any cell or tissue extract. The mixture allows proteins to remain phosphorylated during immunoprecipitation and kinase assays.

Phosphorylation and dephosphorylation include molecular switches that regulate many key biological pathways within cells, including signal transduction, cell division, and apoptosis. To effectively study the phosphorylation activity state, the user must inactivate the phosphatase to prevent its uncontrolled activity after cell lysis. Halt Phosphatase Inhibitor Cocktail does this.
