Simply add affinity resin to one of the polypropylene columns, remove the twist-off bottom and allow the resin to fill itself. Your sample is then added and bound to the support, and a centrifuge is used to efficiently wash away all contaminants and elute the purified protein. Pierce spin columns are available in centrifugal or gravity flow formats. Centrifugation format shortens sample processing time and makes column washing and elution more efficient. For gravity flow procedures, column extenders can be used to increase column reservoir capacity when the binding step for dilute samples requires extended processing time.
