Thermo Scientific Pierce DSG is a water-insoluble homobifunctional N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS ester) cross-linker. Often used to couple radiolabeled ligands to cell surface receptors. NHS esters are the simplest and most commonly used reactive groups for cross-linking and labeling proteins and peptides. NHS esters can react with primary amines at the N-terminus of the peptide and  amines of lysine residues to form stable covalent amide bonds and release the NHS group.

Thermo Scientific No-Weigh products are specialty reagents available in pre-aliquoted formats. Pre-weighed packaging eliminates repeated opening and closing of bottles, thereby preventing reagent contamination and loss of reactivity over time. This format allows for the use of a fresh vial of reagent each time, eliminating the hassle of weighing small amounts of reagent and reducing concerns about reagent stability.

•Uncleavable
•Water-insoluble (dissolve in in DMF or DMSO)
•Membrane permeability, allowing intracellular cross-linking
•In some applications, with DSS can improve cross-linking efficiency
