MagMAX Plant RNA Isolation Kit is designed for automated, high-throughput, or manual purification from a variety of plant species and tissue types Total RNA. It uses paramagnetic bead technology to achieve high yields and robust performance. The high binding capacity, uniform particle size, and fast magnetic response to MagMAX magnetic beads make this technology particularly suitable for high-throughput automated nucleic acid purification as well as manual nucleic acid purification for low-throughput users. The magnetic bead purification specifications of the kit can be easily increased or decreased using a magnetic stand for manual processing or using a magnetic particle processor (such as KingFisher Duo Prime or KingFisher Flex number of samples processed by the processor).
Magnetic beads offer many advantages over other technologies for isolating nucleic acids. Magnetic beads bind RNA and DNA more efficiently than glass fiber filter columns, resulting in higher and more consistent yields. Additionally, since filter columns and vacuum manifolds are not used, there is no risk of undigested tissue particles clogging these components during the extraction process. This clogging problem is particularly important for fibrous plant tissue samples that are not completely lysed during the disruption and homogenization steps.
Optimized bead surface chemistry
The Dynabeads MyOne carboxylic acids used in the MagMAX Plant RNA Isolation Kit have optimized surface chemistry and high specific surface area for efficient kinetics and high-sensitivity nucleic acid capture. These aspects make Dynabeads magnetic technology ideal for the recovery of RNA targets from a variety of plant samples. After capture, RNA is eluted in 100 µL and ready for downstream applications.
