This buffer is functionally tested by Northern blotting and certified RNase-free. This buffer is prepared without using BSA, Denhardt's solution, or other biological materials that may be contaminated with nucleases, ensuring greater sensitivity and reproducibility. 1 bottle, 500 mL each. Ambion® NorthernMax® Prehybridization/Hybridization Buffer contains 50% formamide along with proprietary blocking reagents and background reducing reagents. Blocking reagents minimize cross-hybridization with ribosomal sequences. Because the background reducing agent inhibits hybridization to the membrane, the signal-to-noise ratio is increased, which is particularly important for non-isotopic detection schemes. NorthernMax® reagent components are the same as those in the NorthernMax® Ultra-Sensitive Northern Blotting Kit, but are larger in size. These reagents are ready-to-use and certified RNase-free.
