How it works
ChargeSwitch ™ technology employs a novel mechanism that uses a simple ion exchange procedure to replace harsh reagents such as chaotropic salts, ethanol or organic solvents and isopropanol precipitation. In this method, DNA binds to positively charged surface ligands at low pH and elutes as the pH increases to 8.5 (Figure 1). The ChargeSwitch™-Pro protocol features binding, wash, and elution steps that retain the ease of use and familiarity of common silica spin column protocols (Figure 2).

Because ChargeSwitch™ technology does not require the use of ethanol, chaotropic salts or organic solvents for nucleic acid purification, the resulting DNA is Contains enzyme inhibitors for better downstream performance (Figure 3).
