This advanced formulation allows assays to be performed in serum-containing media in a simple "spill-only" format. Fluo-4 Direct™ is the third product in the Fluo-4 calcium content detection reagent series. Both Fluo-4 AM and Fluo-4 NW require removal of culture medium prior to assay kit detection, but Fluo-4 NW adds convenience through the use of PowerLoad™ reagent for easy cell loading. The Fluo-4 Direct™ Calcium Content Assay Kit is similar to Fluo-4 NW. Its formula also contains PowerLoad™ to facilitate cell loading, but is unique in that it can be used in complete culture medium and can effectively suppress background fluorescence, while Does not affect the specific cell fluorescence produced in the assay.
