Thermo Scientific GeneJET viral DNA and RNA purification kits are designed for rapid and efficient purification from a variety of human and mammalian liquid samples. Purify high-quality viral nucleic acids and are compatible with common sample preservatives such as EDTA, citrate, and heparin.

The kit uses silica membrane technology in the form of a convenient spin column. Viral nucleic acids in the lysed sample bind to the column membrane, while impurities are effectively removed in subsequent wash and centrifugation steps. Nucleic acids are eluted from the column and ready for use.

Purified viral nucleic acid is free of proteins, nucleases and other contaminants or inhibitors for downstream applications. Isolated nucleic acids and nucleic acids can be used directly in PCR, qPCR, or other nucleic acid-based assays.
