MagniSort™ Streptavidin Positive Selection Beads are designed for the magnetic separation of cells by positive selection. Target cells will be bound by biotinylated antibodies, which subsequently bind to streptavidin-coated magnetic beads. When placed in a magnetic field, target cells are immobilized and non-target cells can be separated by pouring. The clone and concentration of biotinylated antibodies used to label target cells, as well as the concentration of MagniSort™ Streptavidin Positive Selection Beads, must be determined experimentally. See the protocol for details on how to optimize your antibodies and MagniSort™ Streptavidin Positive Selection Beads.
MagniSort™ Streptavidin Positive Selection Beads can also be used to sort non-target cells using a single antibody. For cell sorting using multiple antibodies, we recommend MagniSort™ Streptavidin Negative Selection Beads (Cat. No. MSNB-6002) and their protocols.
