Thermo Scientific X-Gluc (5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indole-beta-D-glucuronic acid Cyclohexylamine salt) is the substrate of β-glucuronidase (GUS) encoded by the widely used reporter gene gusA. Glucuronidase cleaves X-Gluc, producing colorless glucuronic acid and dark blue chlorobromoindigo precipitate.

•Detection of infections caused by E. coli
•Detection in food and water samples of bacterial contamination.

• It is recommended to prepare 0.1 M stock solutions in dimethylformamide or dimethyl sulfoxide.
