Lumio™ technology is designed for simple fluorescent detection of recombinant proteins. Lumio™ tags are small (six amino acid) sequences that bind fluorescent substrates, allowing you to visually detect protein localization in mammalian cells. Mammalian Lumio™ Gateway™ Vectors (Figure 1) offer the following features:

•Lumio™ tags for accurate in vitro and in vivo protein detection
• CMV promoter for high-level constitutive expression
• tR site for efficient recombination with Gateway™ entry clones
• Blasticidin resistance gene for fast and efficient selection

Reliable and consistent protein expression, detection and localization in mammalian cells using mammalian Lumio™ Gateway™ vectors (Figure 2). Vectors can be used to generate proteins with N- and C-terminal Lumio™ fusion tags. In addition, each mammalian Lumio™ Gateway™ kit includes Lumio™ green, red or dual-color intracellular detection kits. The dual-color intracellular detection kit is suitable for performing two-color "pulse-chase" experiments to examine protein localization over time.
