UltraPure™ Dithiothreitol (DTT, Cleland's reagent), which reduces disulfides to their corresponding Thiols, at low concentrations, can be used to stabilize enzymes containing free sulfhydryl groups. Higher concentrations of DTT can be used to cleave disulfide bonds in peptides and denature proteins via detergents or chaotropes.
