Thermo Scientific Pierce Protease and Phosphatase Inhibitor Mini Tablets (EDTA-Free) contain both a protease inhibitor and a phosphatase inhibitor , to provide broad-spectrum complete protection against dephosphorylation and proteolytic degradation.

Protease and Phosphatase Inhibitor Microtablets (EDTA Free) Features:
Improved Formula—Tablets dissolve quickly to form a clear solution
Affordable—More cost-effective than other commercially available formulas for the same volume
Convenient—Ready-to-use, fully disclosed, broad-spectrum formula
•< b>Compatible—For use directly with the Pierce BCA assay
EDTA-Free—Formulated without EDTA, metalloproteinase inhibitors (only available in EDTA-free formulations)
< br>Pierce Protease and Phosphatase Inhibitor Mini Tablets contain Aprotinin, Phentermine, E-64, EDTA and Leupeptin to protect against degradation by serine, cysteine and aspartic proteases . To prevent the dephosphorylating activity of serine/threonine and tyrosine phosphatases, each tablet also contains sodium fluoride, sodium orthovanadate, sodium pyrophosphate and beta-glycerol phosphate. Pierce Protease and Phosphatase Inhibitor Tablets are stable for 12 months at 4°C and each tablet is sufficient to dissolve into a 10 mL solution.

Pierce Protease and Phosphatase Inhibitor Microtablets are the leading comprehensive inhibitor tablets. Adding one tablet to 10 mL of lysis buffer completely protects protease and phosphatase activity during protein extraction and protein purification. The inhibitor is available in two formulations, one containing EDTA and one without EDTA. While both formulations contain metalloproteinase inhibitors, the EDTA-free formulation can be used in applications where divalent cations are required for protein activity. Likewise, EDTA and certain phosphatase inhibitors can interfere with immobilized metal chelate affinity chromatography (IMAC) and 2D electrophoresis. Before performing these procedures, samples are dialyzed or desalted. Since it does not contain AEBSF, the protease and phosphatase inhibitor formulation is compatible with mass spectrometry.
