Gibco Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) is a commonly used cell culture medium. MEM can be used with a variety of suspended and adherent mammalian cells, including HeLa, BHK-21, 293, HEP-2, HT-1080, MCF-7, fibroblasts, and primary rat astrocytes. We offer a wide range of MEM modified media for a wide range of cell culture applications. Use

BenchStable MEM is designed to be stored at room temperature and support cell proliferation and maximum cell density as well as conventional MEM supplemented with ≥10% fetal bovine serum (FBS).
This MEM has been improved in the following ways:
•Optimized for room temperature stability
•Contains GlutaMAX, Phenol Red
•HEPES-free
Use of BenchStable MEMMEM was developed by Harry Eagle based on his earlier Basal Medium Eagle (BME) formulation. Many other modifications of MEM have since been made, including Glasgow's MEM, MEM alpha, DMEM, and Temin's modified medium. MEM contains Earle's Balanced Salt for CO2 incubators or Hanks' Balanced Salt for CO2-free incubators. This MEM contains Earle's Balanced Salts. Contains
GlutaMAX additive< Available in easy-to-use packaging, MEM significantly reduces the accumulation of toxic ammonia and improves cell viability and growth. BenchStable MEM needs to be supplemented with ≥10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
