Image-iT™ FX Signal Enhancer is a liquid that is applied directly to fixed media prior to staining with fluorescent probes. and slides or coverslips to permeabilize cell or tissue samples. When using Image-iT™ FX Signal Enhancer, the non-specific fluorescence (background) common when using fluorescent conjugates of streptoavidin, goat anti-mouse or goat anti-rabbit IgG is greatly eliminated.
Key Attributes•
Easy solution – application of enhancer in a ready-made solution in a dropper bottle•
Valid for a variety of fluorescent labels (see User Manual Table 2 below)
•
Cost-effective—supplies are sufficient for 50 standard coverslips•
with immunostaining The protocol's additional blocking steps are compatibleto reduce non-specific binding of dye to tissue. Alexa Fluor™ dyes and many other dyes have negatively charged modifications that can cause nonspecific binding to cells and tissues. While not necessarily critical, it can be an issue when pushing the limits of sensitivity in low-abundance targets. Image-iT™ FX Signal Enhancer significantly reduces this binding, resulting in significantly improved staining.
