Thermo Scientific GeneJET Gel Extraction and DNA Purification Miniprep Kit was developed as a 3-in-1 kit designed to , rapid and efficient purification of DNA from enzymatic reaction mixtures, and extraction of DNA from standard or low melting point agarose gels run in Tris Acetate (TAE) or Tris Borate (TBE) buffer. This kit combines the convenience of spin column technology with the selective binding properties of a silica membrane without the need for tedious resin manipulation or toxic phenol-chloroform extraction.

GeneJET Gel Extraction and DNA Purification Miniprep Kits effectively remove primers, primer-dimers, dNTPs, unincorporated labeled nucleotides, enzymes and salts from PCR and other reaction mixtures. The kit can be used to purify DNA fragments from 100 bp to 20 kb. Recovery rates were 90 to 100% for DNA fragment sizes ranging from 100 bp to 3 kb. The total binding capacity of each GeneJET DNA purification column is up to 10 µg DNA, and the entire procedure takes about 3.5 minutes to complete DNA purification
