Choose the right buffer for ideal protein separation
NuPAGE MES SDS running buffer and NuPAGE MOPS SDS running buffer can be used with NuPAGE Bis-Tris gels use. MES has a lower pKa, making MES SDS running buffer faster than MOPS SDS running buffer. Differences in the ion migration effects of different buffers will affect protein stacking, resulting in differences in the range of protein separation. When using MOPS buffer, protein migration is slower than when using MES buffer.
