SlowFade Diamond Antifade Mounting Medium is a glycerin-based liquid mounting medium applied directly to microscope slides of fluorescently labeled cells or tissue samples. This mounting media provides superior antifade protection across the entire visible and infrared spectrum. SlowFade Diamond mounting medium can be used with almost any fluorescent dye or fluorescent protein (such as GFP, RFP, mCherry) to obtain bright, high-definition fluorescent images.

SlowFade Diamond anti-fade mounting media features:
•Protects fluorescent dyes and fluorescent proteins across the entire visible and IR spectrum, preventing fluorescent signal quenching
•Ready to use without curing liquid; samples can be viewed immediately
• Works with Alexa Fluor and traditional dyes such as FITC and Cy3, as well as fluorescent proteins such as GFP, RFP and mCherry
• Maintains fluorescence signal—virtually no quenching

Choose an antifade mounting medium or optical clearing agent that meets your fluorescence imaging needs›

For high resolution or for thicker tissues with 0–500 µm depth of focus or imaging 3D cell cultures, try SlowFade Glass Antifade Mounting Media. It is a RIMS mounting medium with a refractive index of 1.52.

Choose the best SlowFade anti-fade mounting medium according to your experimental needs›

SlowFade Diamond anti-fade mounting medium The agent is supplied in a dropper bottle as a ready-to-use mixture with or without DAPI. Simply place a drop on your sample, add a coverslip, and image. When the coverslip edges are sealed with an appropriate sealant, samples can be stored for days to weeks. If long-term storage is required and the refractive index is similar to glass or oil immersion, ProLong Glass Anti-Fade Sealer. Samples can be evaluated and imaged immediately after labeling using SlowFade Diamond mounting medium, which requires no cure.

Provides photobleaching protection across the entire visible and infrared spectrum
No matter which fluorescent dye or fluorescent protein you are using, SlowFade Diamond Mounting Medium provides the best photobleaching protection. It has proven performance in a range of fluorescent dyes, including Alexa Fluor dyes, FITC, TRTC, Texas Red, Cy3 and Cy5. SlowFade Diamond mounting medium does not quench fluorescent groups, allowing fluorescent dyes to emit brighter signals without background signal, helping you obtain high-quality, high-resolution images ready for publication.

Stable signal during imaging for instant observation
SlowFade Diamond mounting medium is ideal for analyzing samples immediately after labeling. Its anti-fade properties for fluorescent dyes and fluorescent proteins allow it to maintain signal intensity during prolonged imaging, such as when scanning repeatedly under confocal laser scanning illumination, or when imaging with super-resolution microscopy. Easy to use—simply remove excess water from stained samples and cure. Slide sealants can be used to preserve slides for days or weeks. If archiving for a longer period of time is required, the SlowFade Diamond mounting medium can be washed away with PBS, and the sample can be remounted in ProLong Diamond Antifade Mounting Medium.

Optimum refractive index with Crisp images
Refractive index (RI) matching is critical to modern high-resolution imaging. SlowFade™ Diamond Mounting Medium has a refractive index of 1.42 and is recommended for thin sections of cultured cells or tissue (thickness less than 10 µm).
