The 123-count eBead can be used for absolute counting of cells or other particles by flow cytometric analysis. These 7 μm particles contain encapsulated dyes that are compatible with blue (488 nm) and violet (405 nm) excitation sources and emit fluorescence between approximately 500 nm and 750 nm. They are dissolved in 0.05% Tween-20 containing 2 mM sodium azide at a known concentration. Ratio-based counting of cells can be achieved by carefully collecting and measuring the number of suspended cells:magnetic bead mixture on a flow cytometer.
