CellTracker™ CM-DiI is a fluorescent dye ideal for monitoring cell movement or position. The dye is well retained, so cell movement can be tracked over multiple generations. The red excitation/emission spectrum is suitable for multiplexing techniques using green fluorescent dyes and proteins.

• Easy to use—remove media, add dye, incubate for 30 minutes, image cells
• Fluorescent signal retained for >72 hours (typically 3 to 6 generations)
• Red excitation/emission spectra (maxima at 553/570 nm) suitable for multiplexing
• Low cytotoxicity—does not affect viability or proliferation
CellTracker™ CM-DiI fluorescent dye is designed to freely cross the cell membrane into cells where it is converted to a membrane-impermeable reaction product. CellTracker™ CM-DiI dye is retained in living cells for multiple generations. The dye is transferred to daughter cells but not to neighboring cells in the population. CellTracker™ CM-DiI dye is designed to show fluorescence for at least 72 hours and exhibits ideal tracking properties: stable and non-toxic at working concentrations, stably retained in cells, and brightly fluorescent at physiological pH. In addition, the excitation and emission spectra of CellTracker™ CM-DiI dye are well separated from those of GFP (green fluorescent protein) for use in multiplexing. For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
