ChargeSwitch™-Pro PCR Purification Kit can be used without the use of ethanol or harsh salts known to interfere with enzymatic reactions. Purify high-quality DNA fragments. ChargeSwitch™-Pro kits feature:
• 100% ethanol-free, guanidine-free, organic solvent-free protocol
• Improved downstream performance
• Complete kit for quick and easy setup
• Processing steps 20% less than most PCR purification solutions
• Purify up to 500 µL of PCR product in one column

How it works

ChargeSwitch ™ technology employs a novel mechanism that uses a simple ion exchange procedure to replace harsh reagents such as chaotropic salts, ethanol or organic solvents and isopropanol precipitation. In this method, DNA binds to positively charged surface ligands at low pH and elutes as the pH increases to 8.5 (Figure 1). The ChargeSwitch™-Pro protocol features binding, wash, and elution steps that retain the ease of use and familiarity of common silica spin column protocols (Figure 2).

Better downstream results

Because ChargeSwitch™ technology does not require the use of ethanol, chaotropic salts or organic solvents for nucleic acid purification, the resulting DNA is Contains enzyme inhibitors for better downstream performance (Figure 3). These compounds are known to inhibit many enzymatic reactions such as PCR, cloning, restriction enzyme digestion, and array CGH labeling. Reduced variability is expected in sequencing applications with reads over 800 bp (Phred score >20) (Figure 4); clean restriction digestion (Figure 5); removal of over 98% of dNTPs and primers (Figure 6).
