BackDrop™ Background Suppressor is a novel reagent designed to effectively suppress background fluorescence in live cell assays. It helps improve signal-to-noise ratio when used with green fluorescent dyes or proteins.

The sensitivity of fluorescence assays can be affected by autofluorescence or background fluorescence signals. These background signals originate from cellular proteins or growth medium components and can result in reduced signal-to-noise ratio and assay sensitivity. Adding BackDrop™ Background Suppressor significantly reduces background signal, helping to improve experimental results.

BackDrop™ Background Suppressor can be added to growth media and is formulated not to cause cytotoxicity. It has been successfully used with many different cell types and fluorescent reagents (including ion indicators) to efficiently suppress background fluorescence.
